What a time we are in right now. A time where so many events and milestones are being missed out on. The Covid 19 virus has put many things on hold or for the most part entirely cancelled! High School Graduations and Proms cancelled. Parades, and summer events cancelled!. But you can still give your Grad or Prom kid their spotlight and capture something during this time! SO lets make some awesome Grad Photos, or prom photos. Whatever you want to remember from this time!
This series was for Madeline who is missing her High School Graduation. After talking with her and her mom we we came up with a few ideas. I asked her the school colors to incorporate them into the photos. While she would be wearing the Gold cap and gown colors I got the other cor, purple, in a smoke bomb! We started out on the beach in Seaside Park, NJ. First some nice traditional shots of her up near the dunes and picket beach fence. As the sun was going down the sky was getting really awesome. The clods were separating and it was looking awesome. So with the right photography skills with using large lights and knowing how to control them I knew I could make the sky really pop! So we moved into the beach walkway. With the sunset, clouds, lighting, artificial and natural, and the right camera lens we captured some really cool images of her! Then we added the next part, the smoke bomb! This was just to give her that extra kick, color and have some fun!
After the sun was near down, we drove up into Seaside Heights, juts 5 minutes north of where we were in Seaside Park. I wanted to incorporate the ferris wheel all lit up in the distant background of Madeline. We stood in the middle of the road, well, running in and out of the middle of the road dodging traffic. And the ferris wheel must have known we were there because it was lit up purple! Usually it changes colors and patterns so I guess we got lucky it was not working at its best this night! And again added some smoke bombs and captured some great images!
Here are a few from the series. Hope you like!
