What an evening for some family sunset beach portraits in beautiful Sea Girt NJ! While we all know, certain age children will not always cooperate 100% the way would would like, LOL, we did end up with some great images for this family! After talking with the family, we knew the children might be hard to get sitting and smiling so we figured we would concentrate on the candid photojournalism approach. Which by the way, I love! And makes for great images, sometimes better than the sitting posed ones! After our style consultation we determined that whites and blues would work best for the group. This is based on several factors including the final portrait design and where the portraits would hang in their home. We have great tips for your personal design space, but i cant give out all my secrets! LOL.
And Black and white beach portraits look awesome too! It’s not always about the color, some sunsets don’t even get us the colors we hope for! in this case we kind lucked out and got a nice variety of everything. A little bit of black and white candids and some great colors too!
We try to start up near some nice dunes. But always respecting the dunes and not entering the protected dunes. (and you can get fined for being in the dunes!) We just use the dunes as our backdrop! Then as the sun sets we move closer to the water to try and get some water images, nice color and reflections too if your are willing to get your feet wet!
We do all the combinations we cna for you too. The whole crew, the individual families, the grandparents with just the grandkids, maybe just the kids etc. We don’t have a set number of images we take, we just keep going until we know we have some great images to work with and get you a nice variety of images to make some great keepsakes and wall art!
Here are just a couple of image from this particular family sunset beach session in Sea Girt NJ. We also visit many other beaches such as Manasquan, Bayhead, Normandy, Ortley, Lavallette, all the way down the coast to Cape May! Including some of my favorites, Avalon and Stone Harbor!
