An environmental portrait is a portrait executed in the subject’s usual environment, such as in their home or workplace, and typically illuminates the subject’s life and surroundings. The term is most frequently used of a genre of photography. The new Dean Of Arts needed an updated headshot or portrait for her new position. I visited the college for a chat with her to talk about her new position. We walked through a few areas that would be a part of her daily routine and the areas she would be a part of. It was cool to see some of the art rooms as I have not been to college in 25 years..lol. After visiting and talking we determined that the theater would be the best spot. The painting room and the music room and all the art rooms were awesome locations for portraits but we figured the theater was kinda a culmination of all the arts.
