New Years Eve Wedding & Fireworks. Have no plans for NYE, have a wedding! And an easier way to remember your anniversary. Do you know in 24 years of photographing weddings, I have NEVER photographed a NYE wedding! I just never wanted to… or back in the day when I thought I wouldn’t mind working, we doubled our rates! IF I was going to work a big party day and family night out and such, I wanted to be compensated! LOL. Now I am too old and boring to celebrate New Years so why not work, because it really is not work to us. That is why our job is so great!
So we spent the day with this awesome couple, their great family and fun bunch of friends at Embassy Suites by Hilton Berkeley Heights. This was my first time here too! And it is a great spot! So many cool spots for photos. Nice decor, plenty of open spaces with scenery and the staff was awesome to work with too. I hope to be back again soon!
So after the couple each had time to get ready in each of their suites we brought them out by the firepit area for their first look. A nice little hidden spot away from everything going on in the lobby and ballrooms. Here they had their moment to enjoy each other and a few moments to share only for themselves with no other distractions.
Afterwards we photographed some bride and groom portraits, some family group photos and the rest of their bridal party. The ceremony was in the great big glass room with big hanging crystal type balls, perfect for New YEars Eve! And the cocktail hour out in the lovely hallway, because it didn’t look like a hallway! Then back into the glass ballroom for the reception party. Tara from TFE provided the entertainment and handled the coordination of the fireworks! SHe got everyone outside or up to the window to see an awesome display put on provide by the bride and groom! it is hard to photograph people and fireworks together, but we got some nice images! Then after some dancing and such it was Midnight before you knew it! Happy New Year to the newlyweds and all of you too!
Cheers!
